Full course description

Description

We can often tell just by listening to each other's voices whether we're sick or well, angry or sad, tired or stressed. As the product of the coordination of respiration, phonation and articulation, the voice contains complex acoustic biomarkers for a range of medical conditions. Micah Boyer, medical anthropologist and research coordinator for USF's Bridge2AI Voice program, describes the promise of voice in the diagnosis of respiratory, neurological, psychological and voice disorders.
