Course
Photography and AI: Seeing, Thinking, and Meaning in the Digital Age
Nov 18, 2025 - Nov 18, 2025
Full course description
By the late 1900s, art photography moved away from focusing on form alone and began to explore how images affect our thoughts, feelings, and social experiences. In this talk, Tim Ridlen connects that shift—what he calls “psychological modernism”—to how we understand AI-generated images today, showing how meaning can come from ideas and context, not just the image or the artist.
