Over the past two centuries, Tampa's landscape has undergone a remarkable transformation. Journey through historic maps housed in USF Special Collections to uncover the city's evolution – from a rugged military outpost to a thriving cattle town, to the bustling hub of the cigar industry, and finally to the dynamic community we know today. See how cutting-edge technology known as LiDAR (laser imaging, detection, and ranging) is uncovering sites that have long been forgotten..
