Description
Explore Tampa's rich and diverse musical heritage, from its Cuban and Afro-Caribbean roots to its thriving jazz, blues, punk, and metal scenes. This course traces this cultural blend across decades, highlighting local artists, venues, and festivals. We will listen to music from the region and discuss how it reflects the area's evolving identity. Note: Includes a visit to the Tampa Bay History Center before May 3, 2026, to see America at the Crossroads: The Guitar and a Changing Nation.
