Full course description

Description

You might assume rural Florida from the Civil War through World War I was culturally and musically isolated. But in reality, it was alive with a fusion of styles, cultures and creativity woven into a rich tapestry of sound. We'll explore some of those musical traditions, their histories, stories and enduring influence on today's music. Many will be brought to life on the mountain dulcimer, a sweet-sounding American folk instrument.
