Description

The world is at war. Players heed the call to duty. Old timers and minor leaguers fill out depleted rosters and baseball soldiers on. Despite wartime challenges, the game thrives as a national pastime. At the end of World War II, returning players try to fit back into playing after their long absence. The decade marks a historic turning point with Jackie Robinson breaking Major League Baseball’s color barrier in 1947, paving the way for integration. Let's take a look at this new world of baseball.
